THE AFTERMATH

By Leonard Masauli
(Malawi)

He could not see the sun
Sky was only the limit
He was on own life
He chose to be deaf
The festive season spoiled his mind

Walking on red beer carpet
On his dainty little steps
Like chameleon walking to glory
Dress the table bar man!
Promising to get whatever he steps on
With his voice, like a lion
Money spoke on his behalf

Now door to door begging
Hospital to hospital…seeking life
Court to court for justice
The festive season, the aftermath
Only tales of sympathy remains…..
